Benefits of Neuro-acupuncture, Saturday, November 23, 2024; 11:00-12:30: In the extensive history of acupuncture dating back thousands of years predating ancient China coupled with knowledge of the nervous system dating back to Ancient Greece, Neuro-acupuncture is a fairly recent phenomena. In the 20th century came the discovery of neurotransmitters and from this birthed neuro anatomy and physiology. In 1959 Shanghai Medical college began systematic research to study how acupuncture correlates to the nervous system. They found that of the 365 acupuncture points commonly studied and used, 354 of these were directly or indirectly associated with central nervous system or peripheral nerves. Pain relief, increased motor function, relief from spasms, better balance, greater cognition, and sharper sense abilities are just some of the benefits from this medicine. In this class I will present the basics of how this acupuncture works, how it is applied, and in what ways we can expect to benefit from these treatments. After the lecture portion I will offer each participant a basic scalp treatment (15 min) to demo some of the benefits of neuro-acupuncture. Class fee: Donation. Instructor: Clayton Cruce. Space is limited. Please call (770)354-5756 to reserve your spot.
